Top 20 Best Sellers (Feb 2013) updated

We get asked some interesting wine questions which we do a lot of research to uncover an answer for clients. Some are less interesting but no more less informative.

The answer to the question ‘What are your best selling wines?’ is a very simple matter with profound implications. Here are our 20 top selling wines.

All are priced under 130rmb.

What is amazing is how little this list has altered in the last 12 months, despite the migratory nature of our customers, numerous new wines coming and going from our portfolio, price fluctuations and supply related availability issues.

All are properly sourced by professional western-run operators who know what they are doing. They know that just as much care is required for a RMB100 wine as for a RMB1000 wine. We applaud their ideals.

The Shanghai market is a peculiar one. The very top and the very bottom are where all the action is. (The middle remains where the best bargains are though: don’t tell anyone!).
